Bobby Rapp Memorial Scholarship Motorcycle Run - the Copper Gazette

The 2012 Bobby Rapp Memorial Sholarship Run will provide 5 Scholarships, to High Schools in Tuolumne County, in the name of Sgt Bobby Rapp, Killed -In -Action in Afghanistan.

The Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Riders Group of Chapter 391,in Sonora, Ca. sponsor the yearly event which involves riders from all walks of life joining together in a common goal...honoring the memory of Sgt Bobby Rapp while supplying an educational opportunity for 5 select students.

According to a spokesperson from the VVA 391 the scholarship involves a high GPA and an entry essay with a patriotic theme ie; what America means to me. There is no requirement that the scholarship submission be from a child related to a Veteran.

 The first stop of the Poker Run 2012 was the Sports Pub in Copperopolis.

At the first of a monthly Comedy Night at the Sports Pub three comedians - Cheryl the Soccer mom, Dale Van Dyke , and Marvin DeLoatch - from as far as LA and as near as Sacramento entertained the crowd and enjoyed the heckling from Crazy Dave - as he allowed more fodder for their material.

All having performed at Black Oak Casino they seemed to enjoy the intimate surrounding of the Pub setting.
